PRESIDENT MESSAGE

Welcome to Charmo University, the most recent public university in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq; founded in (Dec. 8th 2014). It is a great honor to be appointed as the founding President of the university, and hard for me to imagine anything more exciting than creating a new university, especially in a country like Kurdistan region of Iraq which has undergone many difficult historical stages: war, genocide, economic and political crises and instability. The creation of a new university provides a unique opportunity to design something special, contemporary, and vibrant for the present and for the future.

We are working towards the success of the students in education and in life. In undergraduate programs we focus on providing the broad foundation skills in all fields, such as; thinking critically and constructively, identifying and solving problems, and communicating well, as well as selective, high-quality postgraduate programs to fit with the requirements of our region, both as a point of access to higher education for students and as partners in economic, culture and social development. We prepare teachers who guide our children, the business leaders and politicians who propel our economy and manage our country. .... read more

This university is considered as an academic and educational figure with noticeable role in developing the community and solving its issues. As educated people we have to improve the ability of our members in order to build an academic and active staff who thinks critically. Charmo University and its continues achievement by: Prof. Dr. Salah in Kirkuk satellite Channel

In a press meeting with Kirkuk channel Prof. Dr. Salah Ritha shed lights on Charmo university and its role. He also describe the university and stated that; Charmo university consists of three colleges and 14 departments. Last year Charmo university was number fourteen among national universities. However, with planning, hard work and support from all the staff and members of the university we were able to involve and integrate with the community needs, and with the academic achievements, and with that Charmo university sharply improved its quality and was able to be number eight this year which means six steps forward. Also, He added that Charmo university will continue with its academic achievement in order to increase the university progress because a place like Chamchmal which considered the state of Martyr and Anfal deserves more than this attainment. Since Charmo university is new, it needs more collaboration and support from other universities. Bear in mind that, this university has not been financially supported by any sides because of the current financial issue that our country is facing. As it is known that university is considered as an academic and educational platform, however, at the same time is it also a social institute which means that coordination with community members is necessary                                                       in order to move forward because each one of us is part of this community.....view more
